Project Details

The Fontenoy Project is located approximately 224 miles south-east of Sydney, NSW. It is situated within the Tumut region in the southern portion of the Lachlan Orogen. Within the tenement lies a number of prospective rock units which include the Jindalee Group and the Young Granodiorite. The middle to late Silurian aged Young Granodiorite is prospective for gold-bearing veins with known mineralization in Young, Harden-Murrumburrah and McMahons Reef. The Young Granodiorite is faulted against the flysch-type marine sedimentary rocks and mafic to ultramafic rocks of the Ordovician Jindalee Group, host to lateritic nickel-cobalt deposits, northwest of Young (Ardnaree and Thuddungra deposits) and veined copper-gold mineralisation (Gundagai Project). The Wambidgee Serpentinite, part of the Jindalee Group contains a number of minor podiform chromite deposits and is prospective for both chromite and platinum group element (PGE) mineralization.

In May 2022, Earth AI entered into an Exploration Alliance Agreement with Legacy Minerals which subsequently became a joint venture with the agreement to a royalty on mining revenue in exchange for drilling and identification of a discovery hole. In November 2022 Earth AI deployed its machine learning AI software to develop target areas with mineral potential, subsequent testing of the targets was validated by the identification of anomalous copper and PGE zones. A maiden drill program in 2023 aimed at testing these zones, confirmed a significant mineralized volume of Platinum Group Elements (PGE) and chromium mineralization at depth, associated with outcropping Jindalee Group of variously serpentinized ultramafic (Wambidgee Serpentinite) and mafic rock units. The nature of the mineralization is of a magmatic PGE-Ni-Cu style deposit.

In October 2024 Earth AI took majority control of the Fontenoy Project, having 80% equity in exchange for agreeing to AUS$4.5million of development work.
